At seven, Jude’s entire life imploded, leaving her orphaned and reliant on her kidnapper after being whisked away to live in Faerie. At seventeen, Jude wants nothing more than to fit in, despite her own mortality. But many of the Fae despise humans, especially the youngest son of the High King. Cunning, charming, cruel and wicked, Prince Cardan has a real mean streak when it comes to Jude. But the tides are changing. Swept into a deadly game of politics, Jude must stay one step ahead to come out victorious.

The Cruel Prince is centered around cutthroat fae, scheming royals and a Political Intrigue (of epic proportions). An all-round immersive novel.

STEPS TO WRITING A PERFECT STORY

STEPS TO WRITING A PERFECT STORY:

• 1. Know the characters- You can’t write a story if you don’t know the characters, usually it is recommended that the character should have a personality of a person you know well, it would make it 10 times easier to write about! • 2. Make an Outline – This is your base, you build up the story by editing and brainstorming along the way. The outline helps you to remember your ideas and help you organize it later. • 3. Start with something odd- All good stories start with something odd, this makes the story more interesting and makes your reader want to read more. It really engages your reader! • 4. Finish your draft – once you’ve finished your outline, it becomes a draft, finishing the draft means the main ideas and most of the elements are included and now it’s time to edit it! • 5. Edit your draft- Editing the draft helps you realize where you went wrong, or where there’s something missing. The more you edit, the more you know your story is going to be a success! • 6. Choose a title- People usually think of the title at the very beginning before even starting the book. That’s ok, but people usually change the title by the end to match the theme of the book, brainstorming ideas might give you new and improved ideas that has absolute no relation to the title, think of the title after you create the book. • 7. Get feedback- Out of all the steps this is the most important. Sure you edited it and proofread it, but it’s better to get more feedback, people have varied of opinions, the more diverse people feedback you, the more chance a large group of people with different opinions enjoy it! • 8. Practice short stories- Practice, practice, practice! We will be discussing the importance of this in the next chapter. We will even be working on it too! • 9. Write one story per day- this is the least you can do if you want to improve your skills! One story a day keeps the inspiration at bay! The best medicine for writers block. • 10. Core message/theme- All stories should have a core message or theme, like in the Harry potter books, LOVE is the core message, that true love last forever, but in this case the love of a mother and child. The theme is also love, friendship, choice humility power…etc. • 11. Write a satisfying ending- again taking the Harry Potter example, the last book, the deathly hallows has a satisfy ending to make up for the number of deaths of one of the main characters. It leave the reader too satisfied instead of frustrated of their favorite character dying.
